  • Sesame oil 1 tsp
  • Cornstarch 1½ tbsp
  • Water 2 tbsp
  • Sesame seeds for topping

  • Optional
    Red pepper flakes for gentle heat

Instructions

  1. Add the chicken to the slow cooker in a single layer.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together chicken broth, honey, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil.
  3. Pour the sauce over the chicken and gently turn to coat.
  4. Cover and cook on Low for 5–6 hours or High for 2½–3 hours, until the chicken is very tender.
  5. Remove the chicken and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker.
  6. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry and stir it into the soup.
  7. Cover and cook on High for 15–20 minutes, stirring once, until the broth thickens and turns glossy.
  8. Taste and adjust sweetness or salt if needed.
  9. Serve hot, topped with sesame seeds and green onions.
