Ingredients

- 1 pound ground chicken
- ½ small onion, diced
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- ½ (1 ounce) package dry taco seasoning mix
- 1 egg
- salt and pepper, to taste
- 4 wheat hamburger buns, toasted
- 4 slices pepperjack cheese
- 1 avocado – peeled, pitted, and sliced
- ¼ cup chopped jalapeño pepper
- ½ cup salsa, or to taste
Instructions
- Preheat outdoor grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grate.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, onion, garlic, taco seasoning, and egg. Add salt and pepper to taste.
- Form into 4 even patties.
- Grill patties for 5–8 minutes per side, until cooked through and juices run clear.
- Place each patty on a toasted bun, top with cheese, avocado slices, jalapeños, and salsa. Add the top bun and serve immediately.
Notes
For a lower-carb version, serve on lettuce wraps or in a bowl with grilled vegetables.
