Ingredients
- · 1 lb (450g) ground beef
- · 1 small onion, finely chopped
- · 1 cup ketchup
- · 2 tbsp brown sugar
- · 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- · 1 tsp garlic powder
- · Salt & pepper, to taste
- · 12 soft dinner rolls (Hawaiian rolls work great)
- · 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
- · 2 tbsp melted butter
Instructions
- · Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- · In a large skillet, cook ground beef and onion over medium heat until beef is browned; drain excess fat.
- · Stir in ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- · Slice dinner rolls in half horizontally; place the bottom half in a baking dish.
- · Spread the sloppy joe mixture evenly over the rolls; sprinkle with cheddar cheese.
- · Place the top half of the rolls on, brush with melted butter.
- · Cover with foil and bake for 10 minutes; uncover and bake an additional 5 minutes until cheese is melted.
- · Serve warm or cool and wrap individually for lunchboxes.
