Description

A fast one-pan dumpling lasagna made with ground chicken, marinara, ricotta, mozzarella, and frozen dumplings for a fun viral-style comfort dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil or 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil
  • 12 to 14 frozen dumplings
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley or basil
  • Red pepper flakes, optional

Instructions

    1. Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
    2. Add ground chicken, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook 5 to 6 minutes until browned.
    3. Stir in garlic and cook 30 seconds.
    4. Add marinara sauce and water. Bring to a gentle simmer.
    5. Mix ricotta, Greek yogurt, Parmesan, and basil in a small bowl.
    6. Nestle frozen dumplings into the sauce.
    7. Spoon the ricotta mixture around the skillet.
    8. Sprinkle mozzarella over the top.
    9. Cover and cook on medium-low for 10 to 12 minutes until dumplings are tender.
    10. Optional: broil at 425Β°F for 1 to 2 minutes until bubbly and lightly golden.

 

  • Garnish and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use frozen dumplings straight from the freezer for the best structure.
  • If the sauce gets too thick, add 2 to 3 tablespoons of water.
  • If your dumplings are small, use a few extra.
  • A quick broil makes it feel more like lasagna.
  • Blended cottage cheese can replace ricotta if preferred.
