Description

A fast and easy chicken recipe made with tender chicken breasts and a rich Dijon cream sauce. Perfect for weeknight dinner, family dinner, and meal prep.


Ingredients

  • Chicken breast – 1½ lb
  • Butter or olive oil – 1 tbsp
  • Dijon mustard – ⅓ cup
  • Heavy cream – ¾ cup
  • Salt – ¾ tsp
  • Black pepper – ½ tsp

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels and season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add butter or oil.
  3. Add the chicken breasts in a single layer and cook 5–6 minutes without moving, until a golden crust forms.
  4. Flip the chicken and cook another 5–6 minutes until fully cooked through. Remove chicken and set aside.
  5. Reduce heat to medium-low. Add Dijon mustard to the skillet, scraping up browned bits.
  6. Pour in the heavy cream and stir until smooth. Simmer gently 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  7. Return chicken to the skillet and spoon sauce over the top. Simmer 2–3 minutes until coated and warmed through.
  8. Serve immediately with extra sauce spooned over the chicken.

Notes

Reheat gently to keep the sauce smooth. Add a splash of cream if needed.
