Description
A fast and easy chicken recipe made with tender chicken breasts and a rich Dijon cream sauce. Perfect for weeknight dinner, family dinner, and meal prep.
Ingredients
- Chicken breast – 1½ lb
- Butter or olive oil – 1 tbsp
- Dijon mustard – ⅓ cup
- Heavy cream – ¾ cup
- Salt – ¾ tsp
- Black pepper – ½ tsp
Instructions
- Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels and season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add butter or oil.
- Add the chicken breasts in a single layer and cook 5–6 minutes without moving, until a golden crust forms.
- Flip the chicken and cook another 5–6 minutes until fully cooked through. Remove chicken and set aside.
- Reduce heat to medium-low. Add Dijon mustard to the skillet, scraping up browned bits.
- Pour in the heavy cream and stir until smooth. Simmer gently 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Return chicken to the skillet and spoon sauce over the top. Simmer 2–3 minutes until coated and warmed through.
- Serve immediately with extra sauce spooned over the chicken.
Notes
Reheat gently to keep the sauce smooth. Add a splash of cream if needed.
