Description

A budget-friendly 15-minute rice bowl with saucy garlic ground beef and bold crunchy chili crisp sauce.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon neutral oil
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated (optional)
  • 2 cups frozen mixed veggies (or shredded cabbage)
  • 3 cups cooked rice
  • Chili Crisp Sauce:
  • 3 tablespoons chili crisp
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey (or brown sugar)
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

Optional:

  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch + 1 tablespoon water

Toppings:

  • green onions
  • sesame seeds
  • cucumber
  • lime

Instructions

    1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
    2. Add ground beef, salt, and black pepper.
    3. Cook 6 to 8 minutes, breaking it up, until browned and cooked through to 160Β°F.
    4. Stir in garlic and ginger (if using) for 30 seconds.
    5. Add frozen veggies and cook 2 minutes until hot.
    6. In a small bowl, whisk chili crisp, soy sauce, honey, vinegar, water, and sesame oil.
    7. Pour sauce into the skillet and stir 1 minute.
    8. Optional: add cornstarch slurry and simmer 30 to 60 seconds until glossy.
    9. Serve the chili crisp beef over warm rice.
    10. Top with green onions, sesame seeds, cucumber, and a squeeze of lime.

Notes

  • If your chili crisp is very spicy, start with 2 tablespoons and adjust.
  • For a thicker glossy sauce, use the cornstarch slurry.
  • For meal prep, store rice and beef separately and add toppings fresh.
  • If reheating, add a splash of water to loosen the sauce.
