Ingredients

  • Ground beef (80/20): 1 pound (makes 4 patties)
  • Burger buns: 4 brioche buns
  • Cheese: 4 slices of cheddar or American cheese
  • Condiments: Mayo, mustard, ketchup, or preferred sauces
  • Toppings: Lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles
  • Oil: Canola or avocado oil for griddle

Instructions

  1. Preheat Blackstone griddle to medium-high heat for 10 minutes
  2. Divide beef into 4 loose balls
  3. Lightly oil the griddle surface
  4. Place beef balls on griddle and smash flat with a spatula
  5. Cook for 2–3 minutes until edges crisp
  6. Flip and top with cheese, cook another 1–2 minutes
  7. Toast buns while patties finish
  8. Assemble burgers with toppings and serve hot

Notes

For extra crispiness, use parchment paper between the spatula and patty when smashing. Experiment with different cheeses or toppings to customize the flavor.
